Story of StewArt

Before the business had a name, StewArt Kitchen was a vision of Shakira Stewart, to pursue her passion and love for cooking for whoever desired to indulge in her meals. From childhood through to adulthood, Shakira always put her heart into preparing meals for her family and friends.

Growing up as a child, she spent her time in the kitchen watching her Caribbean 'Nanny' and Dad prepare meals for the family. Her interest in combining different flavours and learning different cooking techniques grew with her into adulthood.

After years of people encouraging her to offer her natural flare for cooking as a food delivery service, she decided to step out in faith and pursue the dream. After months of planning, the only thing holding up the launch was the absence of a business name.

One Sunday afternoon after her surname was mispelt by her daughter Sariah, a light bulb moment occurred with the exclamation from her partner, Chris; "That's it! Stew-Art! StewArt Kitchen."

Wanting the business to remain close to the heart of her loved ones, Shakira personalised some of her dishes, with the names of the individuals who enjoy those dishes the most; Mel's Fritters, Sib-Wings and Riah's Meal to name a few.

Although there is a personal connection to several dishes by name, every single dish Shakira prepares and cooks is made with love and her hope is that this is conveyed in the taste explosion of each mouthful.
